Government of Pará delivers National Register of Family Agriculture to farmers with disabilities in Cametá
Project assisted by Emater will provide access to home ownership for family farmers in the region

The government of Pará, through the State of Pará Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Company (Emater-Pará), delivered 52 National Registers of Family Agriculture (CAFs) to family farmers who are members of the Association for Support and Social Protection of People with Disabilities of Baixo Tocantins (ASBAT), based in the Village of Carapajó, in the municipality of Cametá.
“Thank God, with the support of Emater, we managed to access the CAF. We are part of the association that serves people with disabilities and we had a project to participate in the home ownership acquisition program. Emater sent a technician to map our areas so we could submit the documentation. Without the CAF, we wouldn’t be able to,” said José Natalino Pinheiro, president of ASBT.
According to him, family farmers mainly work with açaí and cassava production. “These people work in the fields, mainly with açaí, cassava, oranges, cupuaçu, and fruit trees in general. We are very grateful for the work that Emater has done for our association and for our producers. We thought of this project to help realize this dream of home ownership for family farmers,” he concluded.
With the document, in addition to the right to access exclusive public policies for family agriculture, they will access the National Rural Housing Program (PNHR). The federal government benefit facilitates the right to housing and is part of the My House, My Life Program.

“We received the request from the association for the issuance of CAF. Their goal was to access the PNHR, which grants the right to home ownership for family farmers. After that, our technicians visited the properties and mapped them, with photos and filling out registrations. Then, each one came to our office in Cametá and we issued the CAF,” explained Anna Paula Muniz, head of the Emater Local Office in Cametá.
