The State Department of Public Health of Pará (Sespa) is participating, this Tuesday (23) and Wednesday (24), in the Pop Rua Jud mutirão, an initiative of the National Justice Council (CNJ) aimed at promoting health, citizenship, and social assistance to homeless people. The action takes place at Dom Pedro II Square, in downtown Belém, and brings together dozens of free services.

Among the services offered by Sespa are medical and dental consultations, imaging exams, blood pressure and blood glucose measurements, as well as rapid tests for syphilis, hepatitis B and C, and HIV. The Health and Women's trucks provide consultations with general practitioners, pediatricians, and gynecologists, as well as ultrasound and mammography exams.

The initiative ensured immediate support for those seeking care. This Tuesday (23), Ana Magalhães, 45, reported relief after being treated at the dental office set up on-site. "The service was wonderful and very quick. The pain improved and I already have a referral to get a root canal," she said.

Rosângela Maciel Almeida, 35, brought her three-year-old son to the mutirão and highlighted the opportunity to take care of her family's health. "I really liked the consultation with the doctor; he was very attentive. It's a great opportunity to take care of health, especially for those who can't easily schedule appointments," she stated.

According to Marilda Braga, coordinator of the Health throughout Pará program (Terpaz), about 40 health professionals are participating in the action, including doctors, dentists, nursing technicians, radiology staff, and administrative team.

"The CNJ scheduled approximately 300 appointments per day, but we are also ensuring support for walk-ins. This is an opportunity to reinforce the State's commitment to providing health services in a humanized and bureaucratic-free manner to those who need it most," she emphasized.

The Pop Rua Jud aims to bring homeless people closer to essential public policies, ensuring access to health services, social assistance, and also to justice. To this end, it relies on the partnership of various public and private institutions that work together to ensure dignity, support, and social inclusion.

In this action, Sespa reinforces its commitment to quality public health for the population of Pará.
