HRPM trains its professionals in safety during hemodialysis care
The aim of the training is to ensure patient safety during the connection and disconnection procedures to the machines, a crucial step in the therapy

The Regional Public Hospital of Marajó (HRPM), in Breves, held a training session for the hemodialysis team on September 19. The activity was practical and addressed the correct application of connection and disconnection procedures for patients in hemodialysis, a fundamental step to ensure care safety.
During the training, professionals emphasized the importance of careful verification before starting treatment, an essential measure to prevent serious errors.
Additionally, users were also given guidance on how to actively participate in the safety process. “Everyone is important in the process of building patient safety,” said Joseane Corrêa, nurse and technical manager of the hemodialysis department at HRPM.
Approval - Elderly João Batista da Silva, 70 years old, a user of the HRPM Hemodialysis Service since 2023, highlighted the importance of professional qualification. “They are very dedicated, treat us very well. They are qualified. I feel safe, especially when I come for hemodialysis,” assured the retiree.
From January to August of this year, the hemodialysis department of the Regional Hospital of Marajó recorded 4,162 sessions.
Service: The Regional Public Hospital of Marajó is a unit of the public health network of the Government of Pará, managed by the National Institute of Social and Human Development (INDSH), in partnership with the State Department of Public Health (Sespa).
The unit provides medium and high complexity assistance to approximately 300,000 inhabitants of the municipalities linked to the 8th Regional Health Center (CRS) – Breves, Anajás, Bagre, Curralinho, Gurupá, Melgaço, and Portel.
