Sefa seizes 34 tons of glass scrap in Cachoeira do Piriá, northeastern Pará
The goods were valued at R$ 32,401.80, and the seizure occurred at the border with Maranhão due to an illegal invoice

At the Coordination of Goods in Transit Control of the State Department of Finance (Sefa) in Gurupi, in the municipality of Cachoeira do Piriá, northeastern Pará, bordering Maranhão, state tax inspectors seized 34 tons of glass scrap. The goods were valued at R$ 32,401.80, and the seizure occurred on Thursday (18).
“The bitrem vehicle presented an invoice originating from Atibaia -SP and destined for Goiana -PE, and the invoice was issued on the same Thursday (18), which raised suspicions during the inspection, leading to a physical verification of the cargo. Upon checking the systems, it was identified that the same vehicle passed through the Castanhal region on 09/18. The driver confirmed that, in fact, the cargo left the city of Benevides-PA, destined for the city of Goiana-PE,” said the coordinator of the Gurupi unit, Gustavo Bozola.

The presented invoice was considered irregular and disregarded, as it did not represent the veracity of the operation and the seized goods, being subject to the advance payment of tax upon leaving the State. To ensure the collection of ICMS and fines, the Term of Seizure and Deposit (TAD) was drawn up, totaling R$ 11,081.41.
