The realization of "Amazônia Live - Today and Always" highlights the prominence of Pará in the environmental agenda
Governor Helder Barbalho praised the visibility of the State and the opportunities that the event brings to the capital Belém, as the gateway to the Amazon

Seeing the realization of the special "Amazônia Live - Today and Always", in Belém, as yet another example of the prominence of Pará in the global environmental agenda, in defense of economic solutions that value the living forest and the preservation of rivers. This was one of the messages conveyed by Governor Helder Barbalho during the press conference about the event, this Wednesday (17), the day of the show.
On a floating stage on the Guamá River, international singer Mariah Carey performs in a show that exalts the Amazon rainforest and its biodiversity. Pará artists Joelma, Dona Onete, Gaby Amarantos, and Zaynara will be part of the performances. The event will be broadcast on Globo's platforms.

"The visibility that the State of Pará attracts today, being the host of COP30, should challenge us to see and seize the opportunity of what this can leave us as a legacy in the environmental agenda. We do not want to merely live an event in itself. We want to leave a message that connects a network of opportunities arising from this time," pointed out the governor.
"This will bring us legacies that are social, because it calls for us to position nature-based solutions that allow payments for environmental services, the monetization of the living forest, so that the living forest can be worth more than the dead forest; so that the true guardians of the forest, indigenous peoples, quilombolas, extractivists, riverside dwellers, rural producers, with sustainability, can have the opportunity to have this monetization to preserve the forest," continued Helder Barbalho.
The "Amazônia Live" is a movement that collaborates with the construction of a legacy for the forest and for the people living in the region through support for the projects in which they themselves are subjects and agents of transformation. This is a legacy of "For a Better World", a banner that Rock in Rio has presented since 1985. The program of "Amazônia Live - Today and Always" also includes a show by Ivete Sangalo, next Saturday (20), at the Mangueirão stadium, along with Viviane Batidão, Lia Sophia, Lambateria, and Orquestra Vale Música.

During the press conference, Roberta Medina, executive vice president of Rock World, highlighted that the realization of the show does not use public resources. “Holding a show of this magnitude on the Guamá River, in the Amazon rainforest, is yet another important milestone in the history of Rock in Rio and The Town. More than a show, it is a powerful message about the importance of keeping the forest standing as part of the solution for climate maintenance, as a source of wealth for Brazil and its peoples, as the basis of the economy of the future,” she said.

The "Amazônia Live - Today and Always", through a public notice, selected six projects from the Metropolitan Region of Belém that work with bioeconomy, forest peoples, and entrepreneurship. The initiatives are the Peabiru Institute; Friends of the Amazon Forest Institute (Asflora), Association for the Support of Popular Economy of the Amazon - AmazonCred; Association of the Quilombola Community Sítio Cupuaçu/Boa Vista (ASCOMQUISC); Association of Recyclers of Ananindeua (ARECICLANANIN); and the Cooperation of Amazonian Youth for Sustainable Development.
