State Teacher Represents Pará at the National Education Meeting
The only participant from the state was selected as a scholarship holder to attend an event in São Paulo on innovation in education
Pará, through the State Department of Education (Seduc), was represented at the National Meeting of Education in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) 2025, held at the Innovation Center of the University of São Paulo (USP) in the capital city this month.
Teacher Nara Roberta de Pádua Andrade, who teaches Mathematics at the Antônio Batista Belo de Carvalho State School of Elementary and Secondary Education, located in Santarém, in western Pará, was the only state teacher selected to participate in the event, with all expenses covered by a scholarship granted by the organization.

The meeting was promoted by the Laboratory of Technological Integrated Systems (LSI-TEC), in partnership with the U.S. Embassy in Brazil and 3M Institute, in addition to the institutional support of the National Council of Secretaries of Education (Consed), the National Council of Federal Network of Professional, Scientific and Technological Education Institutions (Conif), and the Polytechnic School of USP (Poli-USP).
The event brought together approximately 200 participants, including managers and teachers from across the country, with the aim of structuring a network of multipliers to implement and strengthen STEAM initiatives in public basic education networks.
Climate and Technology - During the training, participants discussed climate change and the use of artificial intelligence in education, and also engaged in practical workshops and experience exchanges. “It was an opportunity for training, professional development, and a mission to represent the state. I went with the purpose of giving voice not only to my school but to the countless teachers who develop amazing STEAM projects in our region. Now, I return inspired, with new ideas and a network of essential contacts to fulfill the role of multiplier,” said the teacher.

According to Nara Andrade, the commitment now is to transform the knowledge gained into practical actions to expand and strengthen STEAM initiatives in public schools in Pará, ensuring a quality education connected to the reality of students, capable of preparing them to build an innovative and sustainable future in the Amazon.
