Cleaning and maintenance of wells in Belém, Ananindeua, and Marituba benefits more than 87 thousand people
More than 30 structures will receive services promoted by the Government of Pará, Cosanpa, and Águas do Pará
Starting next Monday (15), more than 30 underground wells from the water supply network of Belém, Ananindeua, and Marituba will receive specialized cleaning and corrective maintenance services. This initiative is from the State Government, through the Companhia de Saneamento do Pará (Cosanpa) and the concessionaire Águas do Pará, aiming to ensure more safety and improve the quality of drinking water supply for more than 87 thousand residents.
The action is part of a package of R$ 220 million in investments in the three cities and will be carried out simultaneously until September 23, in the wells that serve the neighborhoods of the CDP Complex (Barreiro, Maracangalha, and Val-de-Cans), Baía do Sol, and Parque Verde, in Belém; Dom Aristides, São José, Centro, Boa Vista, Miritizal, and Decouville, in Marituba; and Coqueiro, in Ananindeua.
“The integrated action of the Government of Pará, Cosanpa, and Águas do Pará has been fundamental for the continuity and expansion of specialized interventions, which ensure more quality in the production, treatment, and distribution of water for the population. In this second phase, there will be 32 wells with services and more than 87 thousand people benefited,” details the president of Cosanpa, Colonel Dilson Junior.
The first phase of the services was carried out in August and covered eight wells, benefiting approximately the neighborhoods of Água Boa, Universitário, Guamá, Terra Firme, Marco, and Maracacuera, Farol, Chapéu Virado, Aeroporto, Natal do Murubira, Ariramba, São Francisco, Carananduba, Porto Arthur, and Praia Grande, in Belém, and Decouville, in Marituba.
In addition to cleaning, the interventions can be expanded to other improvements such as pump replacement and other corrective maintenance. Some wells will also be equipped with zeolite filters, which will remove iron characteristics from the water, present in many underground sources in the State, and will provide more quality in the final product.
