The Institute of Health Assistance for State Servers of Pará (Iasep) has been advancing in the implementation of the biometric system, which will cover the accredited network throughout the State. The measure will modernize the service and reinforce the protection of health plan beneficiaries. The initiative aims to register insured individuals and dependents, promoting greater efficiency in the services provided.

According to the president of the institute, Josynélia Tavares Raiol, adherence to the system is essential to strengthen the network and represents an advancement in the management of the plan. "Biometrics is essential to ensure more security and agility in serving our beneficiaries. We are even conducting campaigns to facilitate access and allow everyone to regularize their situation with Iasep," said Raiol.

Biometric numbers - In Belém, where about 120,000 insured individuals are expected to register, 72,024 had already completed the biometrics by April 2025, equivalent to 60% of the total. However, another 47,976 missed the initial deadline (40%).
After the reopening of the process, between May and September, an additional 24,624 beneficiaries regularized their situation. Today, there are still 23,352 insured individuals, or 19.5%, who need to complete the procedure in the capital.

In practice, the system is already showing results: between June 1 and September 10, 25,736 insured individuals were served via biometrics, totaling 77,068 validations in the service.

Campaign as a strategy - To expand coverage, Iasep is promoting a biometric campaign on the next three Saturdays in September (13, 20, and 27), always from 8 AM to 12 PM, at the institute's headquarters in Belém. The action aims to reach insured individuals who have not yet registered and ensure that no one has their services interrupted.

The expectation is that by July 2026, 100% of insured individuals and dependents throughout Pará will be registered. The plan includes regional actions in all 12 integrating regions of the State, bringing the service closer to those living outside the capital.

Safety first - For beneficiaries, the news brings more peace of mind. "I thought it was great. Now I am sure that no one will use my plan without my authorization. The registration was quick and easy," said Maria das Dores Silva, a public servant for 15 years.

"I really liked the modernization. With biometrics, the service became faster, and I feel safer knowing that my access is protected," said Carlos Henrique Matos, a civil police officer.
