Integrated Center for Inclusion and Rehabilitation (CIIR) completes process for new certification
CIIR is the first health unit in the Northern region to seek Planetree certification, which endorses quality in inclusive and humanized care

The Integrated Center for Inclusion and Rehabilitation (CIIR) completed, on Thursday (11), the audit process for Planetree certification. The evaluation, which began last Monday (8), was conducted by an international team led by Christy Davies, Director of Certification at Planetree International, and Elisa Reis, Planetree consultant, with support from interpreter Flávia Romano for simultaneous translation.
During four days, the auditing team conducted analyses, focus groups, and moments of experience sharing with staff, patients, families, medical team, and care partners. More than a technical evaluation, the process was an opportunity for reflection and reaffirmation of CIIR's commitment to humanization, active listening, and excellence in care.
CIIR is the first health unit in the Northern region to seek Planetree certification, a milestone that reinforces its prominent position in promoting inclusive, humanized, and transformative care.
CIIR's Executive Director, Rejane Soares, emphasized the importance of teamwork and acknowledged everyone's role in achieving this stage. She expressed special thanks to staff, patients, families, and partners, emphasizing that each one is essential in the care journey built by the Center.
According to Rejane, the Planetree audit represented an opportunity to reaffirm CIIR's commitment to person-centered care. “Regardless of the official result, we already feel victorious for having incorporated the Planetree philosophy into our daily practices. This humanized model of health care is already part of our essence and reflects our commitment to every life that passes through CIIR,” she highlighted.
The official certification result will be announced in the coming weeks after evaluation by the international committee. Once announced, CIIR will gather its community to celebrate, recognizing that, more than a goal, Planetree certification represents the consolidation of an organizational culture that values dignity, respect, and empathy as pillars of assistance.
Planetree International is a global organization, founded in 1978, that promotes person-centered care, prioritizing the patient experience throughout the health process. The methodology seeks to humanize assistance, strengthen human bonds, involve families in care, and transform health systems based on scientific evidence. Currently, more than 800 institutions in 35 countries have adopted this model, recognized worldwide for elevating the quality of care and clinical outcomes.
