Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (EBC) and Fundação Paraense de Radiodifusão (Funtelpa) formalize a new cooperation agreement

Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (EBC) and Fundação Paraense de Radiodifusão (Funtelpa) formalized a new cooperation agreement that marks the entry of TV Cultura do Pará into the National Public Communication Network (RNCP). The signing took place on Wednesday (10) at the headquarters of EBC's presidency in Brasília (DF).

The formalization of the partnership represents a significant advance in the integration of public communication in Brazil, especially in the North region. From now on, the signal from TV Brasil will be taken to 53 municipalities in the interior of Pará through TV Cultura do Pará. The broadcaster will also have access to the benefits of the Brazil Digital Program, from the Government of Brazil, via the Ministry of Communications, which provides resources for the expansion of infrastructure and improvement of transmission quality.

In addition, TV Cultura do Pará commits to broadcast 3 to 7 hours weekly of content produced by EBC, strengthening the exchange of journalistic, cultural, and educational productions between the two public broadcasters.

TV Cultura do Pará already had a partnership with EBC for content exchange, but now it officially joins the RNCP, which ensures greater strategic articulation and access to public policies aimed at public communication.

President of Cultura Rede de Comunicação, Miro Sanova: "We want to strengthen these relationships more and more," referring to EBC.

“We want to strengthen these relationships more and more. We want to count on EBC's support, but also help strengthen the company, welcoming everyone in the best possible way,” highlighted Miro Sanova, president of Cultura Rede de Comunicação.

“EBC now has the mission to expand its signal throughout Brazil. We are on the doorstep of COP30, we are the host broadcaster. And TV Cultura do Pará has a 40-year tradition of providing quality public communication in the state. We will feel more at home now,” stated EBC president André Basbaum.

There was also an expression of interest from Rádio Cultura FM to join the RNCP. Although the current agreement does not include the radio station, the expectation is that the adhesion will occur soon, further expanding the presence of public communication in the state.

The partnership between EBC and Funtelpa also foresees joint actions for the coverage of COP30, which will be held in Belém in 2025. The proposal is to give prominence to Amazonian voices in the coverage of the conference, with content produced by journalists from the region. According to Basbaum, EBC and Funtelpa will be even closer: "count on us in this, which is one of the greatest challenges of public communication."
