The State University of Pará is holding the Vocational Fair 2025 today, aimed at high school students and candidates for the university's undergraduate courses.

Until 5 PM this Wednesday (1), the general public can visit at Centur, in Belém, booths for more than thirty undergraduate courses offered by the university, as well as spaces to ask questions and register for Uepa's selection processes.

At the opening of the event, the vice-rector, Ilma Pastana, highlighted that "there are courses that only Uepa offers, such as International Relations, in addition to health area courses, seventeen teaching degrees, and eight technology area courses." She invited those present to get to know the university that has campuses in 19 municipalities in Pará, as well as being present in 85 municipalities with the Forma Pará program. "We must be proud of this university," she said.

In addition to the booths, cultural programs are also being held, such as dynamics with Physical Education students and a musical performance by the sign language choir. Acylena Coelho, the pro-rector of undergraduate studies, emphasizes that visitors "can have a direct dialogue with students who live the university experience and talk about the courses, see what they really develop during their years of undergraduate studies, so this moment of interaction certainly helps to clear up all doubts and perhaps even make decisions right here at this moment."

A former Uepa student and current teacher in the state public education system, Ana Paula Couto is a Mathematics teacher at the full-time school Renato Pinheiro Conduru. She brought her students to learn about the courses and was moved to be back at a university event.

"The experience has been extraordinary, as a few years ago I was here, in this same space, presenting the university to future students. Now, already graduated and working in public schools in Belém, I have the opportunity to bring my students to participate in this fair. The emotion is great, and I confess that my heart is racing," said teacher Ana Paula Couto.

For the teacher, this is an opportunity for students to gain more clarity about the courses they wish to pursue. "The fair has been a moment of enchantment for them." Excited about the students who were at the Mathematics course booth, she shares that they approached the location and already expressed the desire to reproduce the games they saw there at school.

Being a full-time school, she also mentions that the education has a different curriculum: "In addition to traditional subjects like chemistry, physics, biology, and mathematics, we work with projects. We have science clubs, where students engage in activities like dance and chess. We also develop targeted projects, such as the school's laboratory project. We have a project for the production and commercialization of soap, using used cooking oil, preventing improper disposal. Another relevant project is the sustainable thrift store, which promotes the collection of clothes for customization and fundraising for school projects. The Full-Time School promotes sustainability and entrepreneurship among students, who are very engaged," said Mathematics teacher Ana Paula.

Heloísa Barreira, 17, will participate in the National High School Exam (Enem) 2025 and took the opportunity to learn more about the History course, which she intends to pursue. "It's good to know that Uepa has this structure and that there are many opportunities in this course, so I became more interested now."

Andy Barreira is already graduated in the mining field and intends to continue in engineering. For her, the fair is an opportunity to "be with these people who study, who are there in a classroom, with qualified teachers, and it's very cool because they provide an interesting perspective on what it is, what you can work on, so it's great to get to know."

Currently, Uepa is open for applications for three selection processes: the Specific Selection Process for the Degree in Letters-Libras and the Specific Selection Process for the Degree in Music are open for applications until September 18. For these courses, candidates will take specific tests, defined according to the schedules of the announcements.

The 2026 Selection Process, for the other Uepa courses, exclusively uses the score from the National High School Exam (Enem 2025), and applications are accepted until September 25.

The Enem tests will be held on November 9 and 16 and on November 30 and December 7, in Belém, Ananindeua, and Marituba, due to the United Nations Conference on Climate Change 2025, in the capital of Pará.
