The Amazônia Jazz Band concluded its programming in Marabá on the night of this Saturday, the 6th, with a super special show at the Carajás Convention Center – Leonildo Borges Rocha, gathering more than 800 people.

The state secretary of culture, Ursula Vidal, attended the presentation and highlighted the importance of the itinerancy of the artistic bodies of Theatro da Paz, such as the Jazz Band.

“We are very happy with the audience's response, with the partnerships we have established, with this welcome and with the exchanges with the students from the public network. A different audience in each space, full house. The Amazônia Jazz Band is also very happy with this itinerancy, which allows us to have exchanges with musicians and artists from our state of Pará, which is so culturally strong. We are already planning our calendar for a next visit to Marabá.”

The big band from Theatro da Paz energized the audience with a danceable repertoire featuring regional and international songs and a lively sequence of cumbia and merengue.

For housewife Lorena Megali, the experience of attending a Jazz Band concert is unparalleled. “I am still in ecstasy here from what we just witnessed. It is a privilege to be here and receive this amazing band. Their interaction with the audience is wonderful, it captures our attention and we are dazzled by so many incredible things that these musicians are capable of doing.”

The show also featured the participation of 6 musicians who took part in the instrumental workshop held on the 5th at the Eduardo Abdelnor Municipal Theater. Among them was music teacher Walkmar Guedes. “I and four other musicians here from Marabá were part of this concert and we are very happy and wish many more years of long life to the Amazônia Jazz Band.”

This action is an initiative of the Government of Pará, through Secult, Theatro da Paz, and the Paraense Academy of Music (APM), with master sponsorship from the Vale Cultural Institute, via the Federal Law of Cultural Incentive, and support from the City Hall of Marabá, through the Marabá Cultural House Foundation.
