In Pará, Intentional Violent Lethal Crimes (CVLI), which include homicide, femicide, robbery followed by death, and bodily injury resulting in death, continue to decrease in the eighth month of the year throughout the State. "The month of August 2025 represents a historic milestone for public safety in Pará, with the lowest incidence of Intentional Violent Lethal Crimes (CVLI) ever recorded among the months of August. The 50% reduction compared to August 2018 demonstrates the success of the strategies implemented and the State's commitment to protecting the population. The decrease in cases throughout the State is a direct reflection of the tireless work of the security forces and police intelligence. This significant result reinforces the importance of continuing actions and investing in effective public policies. We congratulate the entire Public Security team for their dedication and the results achieved. Pará is safer, and this is the result of a joint effort that deserves to be recognized and celebrated,” highlighted the head of Segup, Ualame Machado.

Compared to the previous year, which recorded 187 cases, the reduction reaches 10.16%. The numbers also indicate that historically, this was the best month of August in terms of the lowest number of Violent Lethal Crimes in the month.

“The Military Police of Pará reaffirms its commitment to the Pará society by announcing a significant reduction in Intentional Violent Lethal Crimes (CVLIs) throughout the State. In partnership with other agencies that are part of the public security system, we achieved the best result for the month of August in the entire historical series since 2010. This milestone is the result of the effort and dedication of our troops, the strategic action of police intelligence, and the investments made by the State Government in structure, technology, and valuing professionals. With this, we strengthen our capacity to act and reaffirm our mission to ensure a safer and more protected society,” declared the commander-general of the Military Police, Colonel Dilson Júnior.

The integrated actions carried out daily with visible policing, in-depth investigations with crime resolution, and all the investment made in Public Security are fundamental to maintaining the numbers in reduction, thus ensuring the preservation of lives and the social peace of the Pará population.

“This result is the fruit of continuous and integrated work. The Civil Police of Pará, together with other public security and social defense agencies, has prioritized investment in police intelligence, technology, and training. Our focus has been to reduce crime rates through strategic actions based on data and qualified analysis. We will continue to advance more and more, with the conviction that public safety is a priority and that each of our actions should reflect more tranquility and confidence for citizens,” stated the general delegate of the Civil Police, Benassuly.

National goal - The results indicate the State's commitment to effective actions, highlighting Pará in 2025 for achieving, so far, a reduction of 10.15% in relation to Intentional Violent Lethal Crimes (CVLI), exceeding the annual reduction target for CVLI crimes proposed by the Ministry of Public Security for Brazilian States, which is less than 3.5%.
