Government of Pará strengthens Emater's presence in Rio Maria with new vehicle delivered
The car will serve as logistical support for the activities of rural extension workers assisting farming families in the municipality.
The State Government, through the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Company of Pará (Emater-Pará), delivered a vehicle to the local office in Rio Maria, in the Araguaia Integration Region, this Friday (29).
The car is one of 74 vehicles delivered this year by the Government of Pará to Emater, which will serve as logistical support for the activities of rural extension workers assisting farming families in the municipality.
The delivery took place during the I Annual Congress of Family Agriculture, held by the Rio Maria city hall at the Dr. Elias Filus Bay Sports Gym, which featured various lectures on productive chains of cocoa, pineapple, milk, poultry, fish farming, vegetables, financing project demands, among other topics.
For the local office head, Rodrigo Siqueira, the vehicle will help with the logistics of the extension workers' movements and increase the services provided.
“We have been here in Rio Maria for 38 years and only this year we delivered more than 120 National Family Agriculture Registrations (CAF) and have already carried out several projects, funding for projects from the Safra Plan. We have a very significant participation in monitoring milk producers and beef cattle. With the new vehicle, we can further strengthen these services,” he said.
One of these producers, who has been assisted by the local Emater office for almost two decades, is Walter Monteiro, a milk producer. According to him, the support from the State Government, through Emater, was fundamental for improvements in the production and quality of his product.
“I have been assisted by Emater for 19 years. I was and am very well received by the technicians. After receiving their support, my income increased significantly. For us, Emater plays a fundamental role because they help us with a lot of technical knowledge and technology, in a sustainable way,” he stated.
Deliveries in 2025 - In May of this year, another 35 vehicles were delivered to regional and local Emater offices. In July, 39 vehicles were delivered to Emater to support regional and local offices in various regions of the state.
The public company has offices in all 144 municipalities of the State, demonstrating the commitment of the Government of Pará to technical assistance and rural extension for family farmers and small producers.
