Codec presents the Industrial District project of Santarém at 'Tapajós Negócios'
With 174 hectares, the new Industrial District will have 154 lots and the capacity to boost the regional transformation process
The Pará Economic Development Company (Codec) presented on Friday (29) the project of the Industrial District of Santarém, in western Pará, during the Urbanism Workshop: Integrating Logistics into Sustainable Development, held at the Sebastião Tapajós Convention Center, as part of the 2nd edition of "Tapajós Negócios".
In the panel "Port Area II – Strategic pillar for the industrial district and regional development", the Director of Strategy and Institutional Relations of the Company, Pádua Rodrigues, detailed the initiative that consolidates Santarém as an industrial hub in western Pará.

The project will cover 174 hectares, divided into seven economic sectors and 154 industrial lots, in addition to 3,500 square meters (m²) of built area, with a pavilion of 900 m², a community center, 11.7 km of internal roads, and a water and sewage treatment station.
"The Industrial District of Santarém is born to be more than just an industrial area: it will be a vector of regional transformation, integrating logistics, innovation, and sustainability to connect western Pará to Brazil and the world," informed Pádua Rodrigues.

Strategic Location - Located just 11.5 km from the urban center, between the Tapajós and Amazon rivers, the Industrial District of Santarém stands out for its multimodal logistics, integrating highways, waterways, and air transport. This condition favors both the arrival of inputs and the flow of production to regional, national, and international markets.
The initiative is expected to boost traditional production chains in the region, such as açaí, cocoa, leather, livestock, slaughterhouses, dairy products, mining, palm oil, fishing, and soy, increasing job generation and the competitiveness of the local economy.
Next Steps - The total investment planned is R$ 95.9 million, with R$ 91.4 million allocated to infrastructure and urbanization, and R$ 4.5 million for the construction of the administrative block and community area.
The next steps include finalizing agreements and compensations, taking possession of the areas, and bidding for the executive project and environmental license, estimated at R$ 1.2 million. Subsequently, the bidding process for the infrastructure works, estimated at around R$ 55 million, will be opened.
Partnership - In this process, the partnership with the Santarém Commercial and Business Association (Aces) has been crucial for the realization of the initiative. "Aces was fundamental in this process. The entity led local negotiations, which allowed the project to have the necessary support to advance and become a reality," highlighted Pádua Rodrigues.
Representing Aces at the event, President Alexandre Chaves reinforced the entity's commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at industrialization and strengthening the regional economy.

Tapajós Negócios - In addition to the workshop, Codec managers participated in the official opening of "Tapajós Negócios" on Thursday (28), alongside municipal and state authorities and representatives from the productive sector. The participation was marked by institutional and business contacts, which strengthened the dialogue with local entrepreneurs and opened new perspectives for attracting industries to the State.
The workshop program brought together specialists and public managers to discuss topics such as the challenges of urban development, logistics corridors, integration of agribusiness, and infrastructure bottlenecks in the region. Among the speakers were the municipal secretary of Urbanism and Public Services, Ronan Liberal Júnior; the regional government secretary of Baixo Amazonas, Nélio Aguiar; consultant Luiz Antônio Pagot; representatives from Sirsan (Rural Union of Santarém); the president of CDP (Companhia Docas do Pará), Jardel Rodrigues; federal deputy Henderson Pinto, and the president of Amport (Association of Port Terminals and Cargo Transshipment Stations of the Amazon Basin), Flávio Tobias Acatauassú Nunes.

"Being present at events like 'Tapajós Negócios' is essential to show that Pará is ready to receive new enterprises. It is also an opportunity to listen to local productive sectors and align strategies that generate development, jobs, and income for the population," highlighted Codec managers.
Director Pádua Rodrigues also participated in the evening program, with the reopening of the headquarters of the Social Service of Commerce (Sesc) in Santarém, which symbolized the strengthening of integration between the productive sector, commerce, and public power, reinforcing the relevance of "Tapajós Negócios" as a space for dialogue and cooperation for regional development.
