On this Friday (29), the State Government delivered the new auditorium of campus X of the State University of Pará (Uepa), in Igarapé-Açu, in the northeastern part of the state. The structure completes a cycle of auditorium deliveries that enhance the infrastructure of the university campuses.

Governor Helder Barbalho delivered the new auditorium in Igarapé-Açu and highlighted the functionality of the new infrastructure. "It is a space that the city gains for events and various opportunities for the university to increasingly serve the city of Igarapé-Açu and the entire region," he stated.

"This is what the university proposes, to be an extension of the municipality and to collaborate so that Igarapé-Açu, a fantastic city, a cultural reference for the entire region, can increasingly have a strong and thriving Uepa for all who are part of Uepa. We are proud to be here with you watching the campus grow,” the governor added.

For the new space, the State Government invested around one million reais, including construction and auditorium equipment. Ana Cláudia Silva Pereira, coordinator of campus X of Uepa, stated: “This is a much-dreamed, cherished, and awaited auditorium by this academic community. We only had a common area, and for a long time, the academic community wanted the auditorium because our academic activities need a comfortable, spacious area that ensures quality for our events.”

Mathematics Licentiate student, Raimundos dos Santos: "This space is wonderful," he said.

The auditorium occupies an area of 331.43m², with 150 seats. The building is single-story, consisting of a support room, men's, women's, and accessible restrooms, circulation area, open area, and walkway. The walls are made of clay brick masonry, with foundations and reinforced concrete structure, clay tile roofing, wooden and aluminum Venetian doors, tempered glass windows, PVC ceiling, vinyl and ceramic flooring, and acrylic paint.

Raimundo Lier Pereira dos Santos, 22 years old, is a student of the Mathematics Licentiate course at the campus. “When I entered Uepa, there was no auditorium, so for various events, we had to travel to another city or region.” Now, for him, “it is wonderful to have such a space, of this magnitude with an air-conditioned environment, it is a dream for everyone!”

In addition to the Uepa campus in Igarapé-Açu, Uepa units in the municipalities of Barcarena, Vigia, Cametá, Paragominas, and Salvaterra also have new auditoriums. In other words, all university campuses in the interior will have this additional space in their physical structure.

Currently, Uepa is present in 10 of the 12 Integration regions of Pará. There are five campuses in the capital and others in the municipalities of Paragominas, Conceição do Araguaia, Marabá, Altamira, Igarapé-Açu, São Miguel do Guamá, Santarém, Tucuruí, Moju, Redenção, Barcarena, Vigia, Cametá, Salvaterra, Castanhal, and Bragança, Ananindeua, and Parauapebas.
