Cultural Station of Marabá surpasses two thousand visits in four months of operation
The facility offers a library with ten thousand books, a reading area, computers, and educational programming for all ages

With less than five months of operation, the Cultural Station of Marabá, delivered by the State Government in April of this year, has already received more than two thousand visitors. The space, free and open to the public, consolidates itself as a center for the promotion of knowledge, creativity, and cultural inclusion in the southeastern region of Pará.
Coordinated by the Cultural Station of Pará, the unit offers a library with a collection of approximately ten thousand items, including rare works, comics, and regional literature, as well as public-use computers, an audiovisual room, and spaces designed for study, reading, and social interaction. The structure also hosts themed events, workshops, and activities aimed at children, youth, and the elderly.

According to the coordinator of the Station, Thyago Ferraz, the space has attracted audiences of different age groups and has played an important social role. “We receive children, youth, adults, and the elderly. Here, we not only promote reading but also social interaction and cultural diffusion,” he highlighted.

For student Uritel Taati, the Station represents a welcoming and functional environment. “It is a cozy and welcoming space where we have access not only to books but also to computers that make research more optimized,” he reported.
The diversity of the collection, which includes everything from children's literature to manga and regional legends, is one of the attractions for the school audience. The Station maintains an educational program with guided tours for schools in the state and municipal networks, strengthening the bond between students and local culture. “We have regional legends, manga literature, and many other themes that attract the attention of children and teenagers. They leave enchanted with the space,” said the coordinator.

One of the distinguishing features of the space is the book lending system, which allows visitors to take copies home and return them later. The process is simple and can be done directly at the totem installed on-site, with registration and issuance of a receipt with the return deadline. “If someone doesn’t have time to stay here, they can take the borrowed books home. This focuses on reading as a daily habit,” emphasized Thiago Ferraz.
Commitment to the environment - In addition to being a hub of education and culture, the Cultural Station also stands out for its commitment to sustainability. Its construction used materials such as reforested wood and recycled plastic, reinforcing environmental concern in harmony with Amazonian biodiversity.
