The Commander-General of the Military Police of Pará, Colonel Dilson Júnior, received representatives of the Coordination of the Guarda de Nazaré

On the morning of this Tuesday (26), the Commander-General of the Military Police of Pará, Colonel Dilson Júnior, received, at the Headquarters of the General Command, in Belém, representatives of the Coordination of the Guarda de Nazaré for a strategic meeting aimed at strengthening collaboration between the institutions, with the goal of preserving the integrity of the rope of the devotees during the great procession of the Círio de Nazaré.

In recent years, the practice of cutting the rope — a symbolic and spiritual element of the procession — has become recurrent, raising concerns for the organization of the event and the devotees. During the meeting, representatives of the Guarda de Nazaré reported the difficulties faced due to their lack of police power, especially in the face of individuals using knives and blades to cut the rope during the pilgrimage. The presence of PMPA, with teams positioned at strategic points, will be essential to contain these actions and ensure respect for the religious manifestation. The institutional support requested was welcomed, reaffirming the commitment of the Military Police to public order and to the cultural and religious traditions of the State.

"We express our deep gratitude to the Military Police of the State of Pará for accommodating our requests. We hope that with this partnership, we will achieve success, both during the Círio and in the transfer, keeping the rope intact and allowing the devotees to fulfill their promises,” emphasized the coordinator of the Guarda de Nazaré, Oscar Pimenta.

The main objective of the meeting was to discuss the preservation of the rope, both during the transfer and the great procession of the Círio de Nazaré
