Government of Pará promotes the 7th State Conference on Women's Policies
The meeting in Belém will bring together around 500 participants to discuss equality, diversity, and the strengthening of public policies

The Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat for Women (SEMU) and in partnership with the State Council for Women's Rights (CEDM), will hold the 7th State Conference on Women's Policies on August 28 and 29 in Belém, themed "More Democracy, More Equality, and More Achievements for All." The event will take place at the Hotel Princesa Louçã and is expected to gather approximately 500 participants from various regions of the state.
Focusing on strengthening and expanding public policies for women, the conference is the result of a preparatory process that included 43 municipal stages and the participation of around 7,000 women. In addition to consolidating strategic proposals, the state meeting will play a decisive role in electing civil society entities that will integrate the State Council for Women's Rights for the 2026-2027 term and in defining Pará's representatives for the 5th National Conference on Women's Policies, called by the Federal Government.
Diversity and representativeness
The program will bring together representatives from municipal public power, social movements, and female leaders from different realities. Confirmed attendees include black women, quilombolas, indigenous women, fishers, shellfish gatherers, riverside women, midwives, women from forests, and traditional communities, reinforcing the plurality and democratic character of the conference. The presence of the Minister of Women, Márcia Lopes, is also part of the program.
Space for listening and protagonism
According to the State Secretary for Women, Paula Gomes, the expectation is for a historic meeting for Pará.
"This is a space for listening, dialogue, and social participation. The Conference reaffirms that policies for women in Pará are built with the women themselves, respecting their diversities and specificities. It is a moment of unity and protagonism, where we advance to expand achievements and ensure that every woman from Pará has her voice represented in decision-making instances," she emphasized.
