In the last eight months, since the delivery of the new bridge over the Itacaiúnas River in Marabá, in the Carajás integration region, resident Marcos Antônio da Silva, when visiting his mother who lives near the road, highlights the ease of access and the greater integration promoted by the State Government's investment.

“Before, we had to go all around the city to cross, and besides the cost, it was a huge difficulty to access. The bridge has made things much easier and greatly improved life in the region, whether for residents to transit more safely between the urban centers of Nova Marabá and Cidade Nova, or for the flow of production. The State Government deserves congratulations for the well-done service,” he assures.

Delivered on December 27 of last year, the bridge over the Itacaiúnas River (Dona Ana Miranda Bridge), located at km 1.5 of the Transamazon Highway, has transformed the way of life and economic development in Marabá. It is the third bridge over the Itacaiúnas River in the municipality and is considered an architectural and functional landmark, designed to support the growing traffic in the region and boost the local economy.

Eight months after the delivery of the new bridge over the Itacaiúnas River, the Secretary of Infrastructure and Logistics, Adler Silveira, highlighted the positive impacts that the work has brought to urban mobility and regional development, reinforcing the State Government's commitment to invest in projects that transform people's lives.

“The delivery of the new bridge over the Itacaiúnas River in Marabá marked an important advance for urban mobility and regional development. With its 524 meters in length and 16 meters in width, this modern structure strengthens the connection between Nova Marabá and Cidade Nova, facilitating the traffic of vehicles, public transport, and pedestrians. Resulting from an agreement between the State Government and the City Hall of Marabá, this work represents the commitment to work together to deliver solutions that promote integration, safety, and real improvement in the quality of life of the population. More than a bridge, we delivered a connection that brings communities closer, energizes the economy, and opens new paths for the future of the city,” said Secretary of Infrastructure and Logistics Adler Silveira.

The structure is strategic to consolidate Marabá as a key point in the logistical axis of Pará and the Amazon.

Bricklayer Rosivaldo Souza comments on the improvements experienced in recent months. “Coming from Folha 33 to Liberdade, a neighborhood in the Cidade Nova nucleus, we have all the tranquility. Before, I had to go all around the city and still cross by canoe over the Itacaiúnas, but now it’s just crossing via the road, without traffic jams and safely,” he says.

STRUCTURE - Built of reinforced concrete, the structure has a length of 524 meters and a width of 16 meters. The project, carried out through an agreement with the City Hall of Marabá, cost R$ 116 million - with R$ 50 million invested by the State Government.
