State revenue inspectors seized, on the last 25th, 46 tons of soy originating from and destined for Sorriso (MT). The merchandise was valued at R$ 111,321.36. The officials are assigned to the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit, of the State Department of Finance (Sefa) of Gurupi, located in the municipality of Cachoeira do Piriá, northeastern Pará, on the border of Pará with Maranhão.

“The vehicle presented an invoice stating that the soy was intended for export. The inspectors decided to conduct a physical inspection of the cargo, and the poor quality of the soy was verified. A quality report of the cargo was requested, which was presented by the driver, and it was proven that the soy cargo was damaged, meaning it did not meet the minimum standards for export,” said the coordinator of the tax unit, Gustavo Bozola.

After consultations, it was identified that the soy originated in Barcarena (PA) and was destined for the city of São Luís (MA), meaning it was not going to be exported. The cargo was retained and a Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) was drawn up in the amount of R$ 18,701.36, referring to the tax and fine.
