HRT and Unacon promote a lecture on men's health during the August Blue Campaign
Action in Tucuruí encouraged prevention and self-care among users and staff of the Regional Hospital Complex
Focusing on promoting men's health and preventing diseases, the Regional Hospital Complex of Tucuruí (HRT), which is part of the state health network of the Government of Pará, held an educational lecture last Tuesday (19) aimed at users and staff of the unit and Unacon (High Complexity Oncology Unit). This initiative is part of the August Blue campaign, dedicated to raising awareness about men's health care.
The activity was promoted by the Humanization team and took place in two areas of the unit: at the Unacon reception and in the HRT Specialty Outpatient Clinic. During the event, informational brochures were distributed, and guidance on disease prevention and lifestyle changes for the well-being of the male population was provided.
Health education and prevention
Responsible for the lecture, oncological nutritionist Shidney Salatiel Batista de Lima addressed topics such as cardiovascular diseases, heart attack, stroke, skin, lung, and prostate cancer, as well as hypertension, high cholesterol, and diabetes. The specialist also provided practical guidance for the prevention of these conditions.
“The idea is to encourage a cultural change, making men seek medical care and check their health regularly, before diseases like prostate cancer manifest in a more severe way,” explained the nutritionist.
The main objective of the August Blue campaign is to encourage men to adopt self-care attitudes, such as undergoing routine exams and adopting healthy habits, like balanced nutrition and regular physical activity.
The management of the Hospital Complex emphasizes that actions like this reflect the commitment of the Government of Pará to comprehensive health care and the appreciation of life through information and humanized care.
