COP30 Professionals: platform connects candidates to job openings at Hotel Vila Galé
Government program of Pará brings together qualified workforce and the hotel sector in preparation for the climate conference in November
The Government of the State of Pará, through the Secretariat of Science, Technology and Higher, Professional and Technological Education (Sectet), in partnership with Hotel Vila Galé, promotes the first job fair to compose the staff team of Vila Galé Collection Amazônia, the first venture of the chain in Belém. The registration phase was conducted through the website of the COP30 Professionals platform, which functions as a resume bank and connects certified workers in the Capacita COP30 program to companies in the tourism, hospitality, and gastronomy sectors.
According to Vila Galé, 100 positions were opened in the selection process. Depending on the results, a new selection may be held to accommodate profiles that have not yet been filled. Although it prioritizes candidates who graduated from the program's courses, the selection was also open to the general public.
According to the Secretary of Sectet, Victor Dias, the action reinforces the State's commitment to ensuring the insertion of qualified labor into the market, in preparation for the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30).
“The COP30 Professionals platform was created to bring together those who studied, dedicated themselves, and got certified with the sectors that need specialized labor. The partnership with Vila Galé is an example of how the program is already transforming lives while strengthening strategic areas of the economy, such as tourism and hospitality,” he highlighted.
Selection process - The in-person selection will take place on August 22, 23, and 24, from 8 AM to 12 PM, at the State Institute of Education of Pará (IEEP), located at Rua Gama Abreu, 256, in the Campina neighborhood. The program includes an institutional presentation of the hotel, candidate registration, and individual interviews. Interested parties must bring a photo ID and a printed resume.
The opportunities cover the sectors of reception, maintenance, governance, kitchen, bar, restaurant, entertainment, and spa, with positions for leadership and operational roles, aimed at candidates with or without experience.
For Marina Mendonça, Training and Selection Coordinator at Vila Galé, the partnership with the Government of the State of Pará, through Sectet, has been fundamental in this hiring process. According to her, the professional bank of Capacita COP30 is a valuable tool, as it directly connects the hotel network to qualified candidates.
“It’s not just about filling vacancies, but about offering opportunities for the people of Pará who are preparing. For leadership positions, experience will be an important differential, as we seek people capable of guiding and training teams. For other roles, we prioritize motivated professionals, willing to learn, with a team spirit and good public relations,” she emphasized.
Vila Galé Collection Amazônia - Located in warehouses 7, 8, and 8A of Porto Futuro II, the hotel is considered a landmark for tourism in the region, combining sophistication and authenticity. The space features 227 apartments, a restaurant serving Amazonian cuisine, a children's club, a bar, a spa with a heated indoor pool, two outdoor pools — including a children's water park — and three event rooms.
Capacita COP30 - The Government of Pará has already surpassed the mark of 22,000 certifications through the Capacita COP30 program. The initiative is in its 11th offering of free qualification courses in the areas of tourism, gastronomy, infrastructure, and security, preparing professionals to meet the demands of the job market and COP30, which will be held in November in Belém.
