Emater delivers 138 CAFs to farming families in the Acará Valley
Rural producers and quilombolas from the Village of Papaquara gain access to public policies and credit lines

The Government of Pará, through the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Company of the State of Pará (Emater-Pará), delivered 138 documents of the National Register of Family Agriculture (CAF) to farmers and quilombolas from the Village of Papaquara, in the municipality of Acará, northeastern region of the State, on Thursday (15).
The CAF is considered the gateway to family agriculture, as it proves rural activity and enables access to federal and state public policies, such as credit lines, financing, and social programs aimed at strengthening production in the field.
Citizenship and new opportunities
Among the beneficiaries, farmer Tiene Santos highlighted the importance of the document to expand her production.

“Now, with the CAF, I feel like a complete citizen because I didn't have one. With this document, I will be able to access my rights as a family farmer and, who knows, secure a credit line to further improve my cassava production. I will be able to invest, increase production, and consequently, my income,” she stated.
Strengthening social organization
The 138 farmers are part of the Institute for Solidarity and Sustainable Social Development of the Acará Valley (IDESSSVA), which also received the Legal CAF. The president of the entity, Rosa Amaral, emphasized the significance of this achievement.
“It is a day of victory and gratitude because we have never been remembered. This is the first time. I thank Governor Helder Barbalho and Emater for bringing this benefit to our community. The CAF is a reflection of the farmer. We also received the legal CAF, which will help us prove that we are present and acting on behalf of the farmer, improving our production and the marketing of products. It is very gratifying to see the State Government present here with us,” she said.
Commitment to small producers
The delivery reinforces the actions of the Government of Pará in valuing family agriculture, a segment responsible for a large part of the food that reaches the tables of the people of Pará. The action also strengthens the technical assistance and rural extension work of Emater, present in all 144 municipalities of the State.

“Without the CAF, the farmer is like a worker without a signed contract. With this document, they gain access to specific public policies for farmers. Emater is as big as Pará because it is in all municipalities. It is a feeling of immense gratitude, through the State Government, to deliver these documents and already think about future projects to bring rural credits to small farmers, changing the realities of many families,” highlighted the rural extension agent.
