The city of Paragominas hosts the 58th State Exhibition of Field Producers – AGROPEC 2025, one of the largest agricultural fairs in the country. With the theme "Cultivating the Future, Valuing Our Roots," the event brings together rural producers, agribusiness companies, and visitors in a diverse program that includes exhibitions, auctions, lectures, shows, and rodeos. The program coincided with the celebrations for the Day of Pará's Adherence to Brazil's Independence.

On the night of this Friday (15), Governor Helder Barbalho and Vice Governor Hana Ghassan participated in the official program of the fair, accompanied by First Lady Daniela Barbalho, Minister of Cities Jader Filho, President of the Legislative Assembly of Pará, Deputy Chicão, and other state and municipal authorities. The delegation was welcomed by the mayor of Paragominas, Sidney Rosa.

During the visit, the officials toured booths of local producers, highlighting the production of cassava flour, vegetable gardens, and cattle, in addition to interacting with rural workers and entrepreneurs in the sector.

The governor highlighted the relevance of the fair for strengthening agribusiness and generating business in Pará.

"Agropec is a reference for Pará's agribusiness, certainly one of the most important agricultural fairs in Brazil. I am very happy to see the power of agribusiness from Paragominas and this entire Belém-Brasília region. There are many business prospects happening, with the booths being appreciated by the population," said Helder Barbalho.

He also emphasized the financial impact that the fair is expected to generate for the sector.

"We are talking about around R$ 800 million in investments that are expected to occur in the commercialization of machinery, silos, irrigation pivots, inputs for agriculture and livestock. This shows the economic warming of rural activity in Pará. Furthermore, the fair is a space for fellowship and leisure, with about 200,000 people participating in the program and having fun around the strength of Pará's agribusiness," added the governor.

After visiting the booths, the delegation proceeded to the rodeo arena, packed for the final phase of the competition, considered one of the highlights of the fair. Vice Governor Hana Ghassan highlighted the relevance of the event for the state and for Brazil.

"I want to say to each one that I wish you a great rodeo at this Agropec, which is a reference not only for Pará but for all of Brazil. Long live agribusiness, long live the economy of our state," declared the vice governor.

In 2024, Agropec brought together 215 companies, governments, entities, artisans, and schools, generating around R$ 800 million in business. The 2025 edition maintains the expectation of surpassing these numbers, consolidating Paragominas as one of the main hubs of agribusiness in Pará and Brazil.
