City Park hosts the 2nd edition of the Geek Meeting with support from the Government of Pará
Event this Saturday (16) is expected to gather more than 3,000 people with free programming and attractions for all ages
With the support of the Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Sports and Leisure (Seel), City Park in Belém will host, this Saturday (16), the 2nd edition of the Geek Meeting, promoted by the organization Geekzada. The expectation is to gather more than 3,000 people, starting at 7 PM, at the Covered Sports Court, with free entry.
Diverse programming
The audience will be able to watch a cosplay parade, a League of Legends Mobile championship, Mega Random Play Dance, and distribution of prizes to the winners. For the event organizer, Patric Júnior, the meeting has already become a reference for fans of geek culture in the capital.
“The meeting at City Park is very important for the geek community of Belém, as it provides leisure and brings together people from all social classes around a common passion. Seel is a key player, as it enables the event to be completely free. I want to thank the Government of Pará and Secretary Cássio Andrade for listening to the community's demands,” he emphasized.
Culture and integration
The term “geek” is used to identify people passionate about their interests, who seek knowledge and engage with the culture associated with them — whether technology, pop culture, games, cinema, anime, k-pop, or other themes that inspire them.
The State Secretary of Sports and Leisure, Cássio Andrade, reinforced the role of the initiative in promoting leisure and culture.
“We at Seel are open to listening to everyone and always providing well-being through sports and leisure. The geek community will bring a lot of fun for everyone to City Park. It is essential to show the public the importance of these cultural meetings,” he stated.
