Regional Hospital of Marajó raises awareness about violence against women

The action, which involved a partnership with the Military Police, provided information on prevention, confronting aggression, and reporting channels

In commemoration of the "August Lilac" campaign, which aims to raise community awareness, prevent aggression, and encourage reporting against violence towards women, the management of the Public Regional Hospital of Marajó (HRPM), in Breves, held the lecture "Awareness of Violence Against Women" on August 13 and 14 (Thursday and Friday), presented by 2nd Lieutenant of the Military Police of Breves, Adriane Costa, in the auditorium of the unit.

The initiative was organized by the Humanization Working Group (GTH), with support from the Specialized Service in Safety Engineering and Occupational Medicine (SESMT), in partnership with the Military Police in Breves, reaffirming HRPM's commitment to disseminating information, prevention, and confronting violence against women, also strengthening its social role in the Marajoara community. The event had about 50 participants.

Action for pregnant women - Continuing the actions of "August Lilac", next Monday (18) the unit will hold another educational activity aimed at users of the Maternity Space and companions of the Neonatal ICU.

For psychologist Joliane Morais, 30 years old, "the initiative was very important and necessary to prevent aggression and raise awareness among the population about all types of violence. In addition, the lieutenant instructed about the women's protection network."

Service: The Public Regional Hospital of Marajó is part of the health network of the Government of Pará. It is managed by the National Institute of Social and Human Development (INDSH), in partnership with the State Department of Public Health (Sespa).

The unit provides medium and high complexity assistance to approximately 300,000 inhabitants of the municipalities linked to the 8th Regional Health Center (CRS) – Breves, Anajás, Bagre, Curralinho, Gurupá, Melgaço, and Portel.
