At just 14 years old, the taekwondo athlete Isadora dos Anjos from Pará showed talent and determination by winning the bronze medal at the 1st Inter-club Championship Sueños Olímpicos PATU 12, held in Santiago, Chile. Competing in the female cadet category up to 44 kg, Isadora proudly represented Brazil and Pará, bringing home an impressive result that places her name among the promises of national taekwondo.

This achievement was made possible with the support of the Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Sports and Leisure (Seel), which invests in the encouragement and strengthening of sports in Pará. The event, held from July 24 to 26, brought together high-level athletes from various countries, and Brazil shone in the overall standings, becoming champion in the cadet, junior, and adult categories.

For Isadora, the achievement is more than just a medal; it is an important step towards new challenges. "Winning the bronze medal is a victory that I carry with great pride, as I competed with athletes from all over the world. This medal represents not only physical effort but also the mental and emotional strength of those who believe in their own potential. These achievements are not just mine, but of everyone who supported me, who believed in me, and of every sweaty training session I did. The change was difficult, but absolutely necessary. And today, I can say with conviction: it was worth it," said the athlete.

Support - More than 1,000 athletes currently receive support from the Government of Pará, through Seel, for participation in national and international competitions in various sports. Athletes can make up to three support requests per year, two for national competitions and one for international, and the financial assistance is primarily used for travel expenses, registrations, and accommodations.

The head of Seel highlighted the athlete's achievement and the work in valuing athletes. "I am very happy for this wonderful achievement of our athlete from Pará who shone at an international level. The Government's investment in these athletes and in sports aims at the future of these professionals who represent our flag throughout Brazil and the world. Our commitment is to continue encouraging and valuing these athletes who proudly represent Pará," said Cássio Andrade.

In 2024, the State guaranteed support to 1,365 athletes for national and international competitions. An investment of about R$ 4.7 million from the Government of Pará. With this funding, athletes realized their dream of competing in sporting events representing the State.
