The Government of Pará, through the Housing Company of Pará (Cohab-PA), has benefited 11,242 families with the housing benefit Sua Casa in the Araguaia Integration Region from 2019 to the present, which includes 14 municipalities: Abel Figueiredo, Conceição do Araguaia, Bannach, Cumaru do Norte, Floresta do Araguaia, Ourilândia do Norte, Redenção, Santana do Araguaia, Pau D'arco, Santa Maria das Barreiras, Sapucaia, São Félix do Xingu, Tucumã, and Xinguara.

The Sua Casa benefit provides families in the first and second phases of the program with financial resources for the construction, expansion, adaptation, or renovation of properties, ensuring a better quality of life for those who need it most. The investment, which is provided free of charge, must be used for purchasing construction materials and paying for the mason's labor. The total benefit can reach R$ 21,000.

The president of Cohab, Manoel Pioneiro, emphasizes that the housing benefit fulfills its social function of reducing the housing deficit and also stimulates the economy. "When the family acquires construction materials, it boosts local commerce, as well as the funds for paying the mason's labor also generate jobs, thus the housing benefit granted by Governor Helder and Vice Governor Hana has a significant positive social impact in the State of Pará," points out Pioneiro.

Housewife Beatriz Lima, a resident of Floresta do Araguaia, detailed that the benefit will ensure a transformation in her life.

"It is my dream because I have had many losses, and now it is an opportunity that God is giving me to transform my life. I am grateful that this policy exists to guarantee housing for those who do not have it. It is important for the transformation of all needy families," said Beatriz.

For those who received the benefit, it is the opportunity to complete the long-dreamed construction of their own home. Housewife Tarsila da Silva Costa made a point of saying that with this resource, she will finish the construction of her house.

"I am very happy and realizing another dream, and I can only be grateful. With this second phase, I will finish my little house, do the finishing touches, and I still want to build a wall all around for more security," said the housewife.

To participate in the Sua Casa Program, interested parties must meet the following criteria: have a family income of up to three minimum wages; not own another property; be over eighteen years old or emancipated; have a family consisting of at least two members; not have been benefited by another housing program at the Municipal, State, and Federal levels; prove that they have owned or peacefully possessed the property for more than five years.

Service: Families that have already been benefited by other housing programs may be served exceptionally in case of a disaster, minimum living conditions, social vulnerability, and/or relocation.
