The Government of the State of Pará, through the Bank of the State of Pará (Banpará), will increase its sponsorship to Paysandu Sport Club in 2025. The announcement was made by Governor Helder Barbalho on the night of this Wednesday (13), confirming an increase of R$ 600 thousand to the already practiced amount. With this, the bicolor club will receive R$ 5 million in direct support for its stay in the Série B of the Campeonato Brasileiro.

According to the governor, the increase in the transfer aims to assist Paysandu in settling a debt with the International Football Federation (FIFA), which will allow the club to reverse the transfer ban — a punishment that prevents the registration of new players. The regularization will pave the way for the team to make new signings and maintain competitiveness in the season.

“Banpará, the state bank, is the main sponsor of Paysandu. Today it sponsors with R$ 4.4 million per year. We will increase this sponsorship by another R$ 600 thousand, totaling R$ 5 million for Paysandu,” announced Helder Barbalho.

The governor also highlighted the strategic impact of the measure. “This increase is exactly what Paysandu needs to pay FIFA and be in a position to make important signings, so that the team can continue in Série B. This is an action we are taking to collaborate with Pará football, so that our teams can represent the State of Pará very well,” he added.

Banpará reinforces commitment to Pará sports

Recognized as the largest sponsor of football in the State, Banpará maintains solid partnerships with the main Pará clubs. Since 2009, it has been the official sponsor of the Campeonato Paraense and, in 2025, renewed its investment with a record amount of R$ 7 million for the Parazão Banpará, including the A2 and A3 series.

The state bank also signed, in 2020, naming rights contracts with the two main stadiums in the capital: Banpará Curuzu (Paysandu) and Banpará Baenão (Remo), ensuring strategic resources for the teams, especially during the critical period of the pandemic.
