As a reference in medium and high complexity in the Tucuruí Lake region, the Tucuruí Regional Hospital Complex — formed by the Tucuruí Regional Hospital (HRT) and the High Complexity Oncology Unit (Unacon) — reached the mark of 206,375 services between January and June 2025.

Throughout its 32 years, the institution has established itself as a fundamental piece of the state health system, offering quality care and specialized services to the population of Tucuruí and neighboring municipalities.

Significant numbers - In the first half of the year, the following were performed:
- 144,505 laboratory tests
- 17,831 imaging tests
- 11,032 urgent and emergency care in the Emergency Room
- 6,749 receptions and consultations by the multiprofessional team
- 3,365 hospitalizations
- 1,803 surgeries
- 2,685 complementary procedures, such as outpatient surgeries, hemotherapy, OPME, and biopsies

The Specialty Outpatient Clinic recorded 8,515 medical consultations. Unacon served patients from various regions of the state, totaling 3,889 oncological consultations, 3,001 chemotherapy sessions, and 3,000 radiotherapy sessions.

Management and quality - According to the general director of HRT and Unacon, Junior Souto, the results reflect collective effort: “This result is a consequence of the serious and dedicated work of our entire team. Despite the high demand, we have strived to provide humanized and effective care, prioritizing the safety and well-being of patients. Monthly, we improve processes and reinforce integration between departments.”

The advancement in indicators is the result of the partnership between the Pará State Health Department (Sespa) and the Diretrizes Institute, responsible for managing the Complex.

Approval and certification - In the same period, the unit achieved 98.11% approval among patients, according to a survey by the Ombudsman/User Service (SAU).

The Hospital Complex also has certification from the National Accreditation Organization (ONA). In 2024, it achieved level 1 – “Accredited,” recognition that attests to the commitment to high standards of quality and safety in care.
