Team from Base Antônio Lemos in Breves arrests man wanted by Justice
The floating Base, installed in the Breves strait, carries out continuous inspection and boarding actions on vessels operating in the Marajó region

The continuous inspections in the rivers of Marajó, carried out by the security agent teams from the Integrated Fluvial Base Antônio Lemos, installed in the Breves strait and linked to the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), resulted in the arrest of a man identified on a vessel coming from the city of Manaus (AM) heading to Belém (PA) on the night of last Tuesday, the 12th. The man had two open arrest warrants for the crimes of qualified homicide and domestic violence.
“The continuous actions taken by the agents of Base Antônio Lemos, installed in the Marajó region, have shown good productivity, both in terms of drug seizures and the capture of fugitives. Once again, we emphasize that the strategy initiated by the Integrated Floating Bases, such as the Candiru Base located in the Lower Amazon region, is precisely to inhibit crime and intensify inspections on the rivers, as with these daily actions we can identify crime suspects and capture those who are being sought by justice, as well as intercept and confront drug trafficking that uses waterways as escape routes and transport for illegal cargo,” pointed out the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense, Ualame Machado.
Occurrence
On the night of last Thursday, the 12th, a team from the Public Security Fluvial Group (Gflu), along with a team from the Military Police, during a routine inspection in the Breves river network, boarded a vessel named N/M Anna Karoline V that was coming from the city of Manaus heading to Belém. During the boarding, it was identified that a passenger had two open arrest warrants against him: one for the crime of homicide committed against a market vendor in 2020 and the other for domestic violence, both crimes committed in the State of Amazonas.
In the action, the man was arrested and presented to the Civil Police Station of Breves for the necessary procedures, remaining at the disposal of Justice.
