Detranzinho Program Restarts Educational Activities After the 2025 School Break
The pedagogical project is aimed at public and private schools, with a central theme of traffic safety

The State Department of Transit (Detran) resumed, on this Tuesday, the 12th, the pedagogical activities of Detranzinho after the July school vacation period. The program schedule began with a visit from 16 students, aged between 4 and 5 years, from the early childhood education of the Ana Maria Araújo Educational Center (Ceama), in the Cabanagem neighborhood of Belém.
Detranzinho is a pedagogical project under the administration of Detran, aimed at public and private schools and social institutions, which aims to emphasize road education for children and adolescents, highlighting the respect and principles we must have in traffic. The main objective is to build responsible habits with children and raise awareness for safer traffic, so they can learn and put these teachings into practice in their daily lives.
The manager of Programs and Pedagogical Projects of the Education Coordination, Edilssa Carla, spoke about how the first semester of 2025 went, what is expected for the second part of the year, and how the number of children and adolescents was greater than anticipated.

“In this year of 2025, with our Schools in Transit program, we managed to close the semester by training a large number of children and adolescents. We hope that our audience increases, especially since the National Traffic Week and Children's Day are coming up in October, when we will have a specific activity. So, we intend to increase by at least 20% compared to the first semester,” Edilssa highlighted.
Only this year, Detran trained 2,741 children in an external environment, including 33 atypical ones, from 51 schools in 11 municipalities. In the Detranzinho space, 622 children from 26 schools were served.

The children from the kindergarten class of Ceama participated in playful lectures, an interactive video that shows driving concepts and traffic rules. They also watched a small introductory presentation with puppets that ask questions about traffic, in addition to playing in the Detranzinho mini-circuit. With the help of the education team of the project, the little drivers learned about the colors of the traffic light and their duties, notions of vehicle and cyclist traffic, speed limits, among other tips.
Teacher Juliana Santos, 35, spoke about the importance of bringing children to learn traffic education and how fundamental it is for the students' development. “We contacted Detran by email, and they received us here today. This experience is being wonderful for the children to learn in a playful way about traffic safety. So, it is of utmost importance and very significant because, with this experience and their learning today, they will take it home, to their families, to their parents, about how to maintain safety in traffic,” she commented.
Detranzinho will continue to serve throughout this month of August. Schools and social institutions that wish to participate in the project can request scheduling by email at [email protected].
