Traffic on a stretch of Augusto Montenegro Highway will be altered starting this Tuesday (12)
The temporary closure is part of the works of the New Marine Street, one of the legacies of COP 30 in Belém

Starting at 7 am this Tuesday (12), traffic on Augusto Montenegro Highway, in the Castanheira neighborhood of Belém, will be altered due to the progress of the works on the New Marine Street — an intervention that is part of the set of investments by the State Government for the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP 30), which will be held in the capital of Pará in November this year.
The change will occur in the direction of Entroncamento, in the 100 meters preceding the intersection with Marine Street, where one lane will be closed. The forecast is that the services will be completed by next Friday (15).

The project – Progressing on schedule, the extension and duplication of the New Marine Street will have a length of 3.5 kilometers. The services, carried out by the State Department of Public Works (Seop), aim to reduce congestion in the region, improving road safety, decreasing travel time in Belém and the Metropolitan Region, and ensuring urban development with mobility.
The road will have two lanes in each direction, with each lane consisting of three traffic lanes, a bike lane, and a sidewalk with accessibility. The project will also include horizontal and vertical signage, recessed bus stops with informational totems, and new LED lighting, providing more comfort and safety for road users.
