Pará advances in negotiations for the qualification of the ZPE of Barcarena
The State Government reinforces its efforts in Brasília to consolidate a strategic project for industrialization and export

The Government of Pará continues to advance in the process of qualifying the Export Processing Zone (ZPE) of Barcarena, considered strategic for boosting industrialization, increasing export capacity, and attracting new investments to the State. On the afternoon of this Monday (11), a delegation from Pará met with the National Council of Export Processing Zones (CZPE) in Brasília to present the technical and legal advancements of the project and align the next steps for the official qualification of the ZPE.
During the meeting, Bravo Mineração was presented as the anchor company of the project. The choice of the company was highlighted as a decisive factor to ensure the economic viability and attractiveness of the ZPE, which will be structured to serve different productive sectors and strengthen the business environment in Pará.

According to Pádua Rodrigues, Director of Strategies and Institutional Relations of the Economic Development Company of Pará (Codec), this moment is crucial for the project.
“This meeting was productive and reaffirmed the technical and legal solidity of the proposal. We demonstrated that the ZPE of Barcarena already has the conditions to generate jobs, income, and increase Pará's export capacity, consolidating Codec's role in attracting investments and strengthening the economy of Pará,” he emphasized.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the State Government, the productive sector, and leaders from CZPE and the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce, and Services (MDIC). From Pará, the Deputy Secretary of Economic Development, Mining, and Energy (Sedeme), Carlos Ledo; the Secretary of Development of Barcarena, Marcos Mendes; and the President of the Federation of Industries of the State of Pará (Fiepa), Alex Carvalho, participated.
For Carlos Ledo, the joint articulation was fundamental for the advancement of the proposal.
“It was a very important meeting, in which we presented the anchor company to CZPE and established clear parameters for the continuation of the process. It became evident, on the part of the Council, the real intention to advance with the implementation of the ZPE,” he stated.
Representing Bravo Mineração, President Luiz Azevedo participated accompanied by company directors. Also present were the representative of the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), Constanza Negri, as well as members of CZPE and MDIC.

The Secretary of Development of Barcarena, Marcos Mendes, reinforced the importance of alignment between institutions to ensure the implementation of the ZPE.
“Today we were able to prove the effectiveness of the union of forces in favor of a strategic project for the development of Pará. The State, the Municipality of Barcarena, and Fiepa are working together for the implementation of the ZPE,” he affirmed.
For the President of Fiepa, Alex Carvalho, the ZPE of Barcarena represents a concrete opportunity to transform the industry in Pará. “The ZPE is a strategic alternative to position Pará's industry with more competitiveness in the international scenario. The partnership with Codec and other institutions is essential to bring the project to fruition and expand economic results for the State,” he pointed out.
With the agenda in Brasília, the State Government reinforces its commitment to fulfill all necessary steps for the ZPE of Barcarena to be officially qualified. The expectation is that, with formal recognition, the project will consolidate as a dynamic hub of production and export, boosting productive chains, generating jobs, and strengthening Pará's presence in international trade.
