State Government delivers 'Temporary Benefit' to 10 families in Belém
The 'Temporary Benefit' is granted for about three months, in an amount equivalent to a monthly minimum wage.

The Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat for Social Assistance, Labor, Employment and Income (Seaster), delivered on this Monday (11), to 10 families in Belém the 'Temporary Benefit', ensuring immediate support to victims in vulnerable situations, after incidents such as fires occurred in the capital. The delivery of the bank orders was carried out at the Seaster headquarters, in the Nazaré neighborhood, in Belém, by the head of the department, Inocêncio Gasparim, along with the team from the Directorate of Income, Citizenship and Combating Poverty (DRCCP).
"My house suffered a fire 50 days ago, and this benefit will help me finish renovating it. It will be a little push for me to continue my life, as fortunately, it was not a total loss. My mental health was also greatly affected, but thanks to the State Government, I am improving with this help and gradually moving forward because of the benefits,” said eyebrow designer, Diana da Costa.
The Temporary Benefits are provided for in the Organic Law of Social Assistance (Loas) and offered to people who do not have any means to face adverse situations on their own, such as birth, death, temporary vulnerability, or public calamity — circumstances that compromise the maintenance of life with dignity. The 'Temporary Benefit' is granted for about three months, in an amount equivalent to a monthly minimum wage.
"I lost my house in a fire. Everything we worked for is gone in the blink of an eye because of the fire. This benefit will help me buy my wardrobe, my bed, and the rest. This help from the State Government came at the exact right time,” said freelancer, Álvaro Yuri.
Data - In 2024, the Government of the State of Pará allocated more than R$ 238 thousand in benefits for families affected by incidents throughout the State. Of this total, approximately R$ 74 thousand were made available to families residing in the Metropolitan Region of Belém (RMB).
This action is part of the public policy of social protection implemented by the State Government, through Seaster, which works to guarantee rights and address emergency situations throughout Pará. Aiming to promote more dignity and income security for a fresh start for families in vulnerability, the Government of Pará reaffirms its commitment to a social assistance that is increasingly humanized, efficient, and present.
"We remain committed to our population, prioritizing those who are in situations of social vulnerability. The temporary benefit is a guarantee that these families affected by these emergency situations have their chance to restart with more dignity. The role of the State is precisely this: to offer the necessary support to all who need it and provide adequate conditions so that these difficulties are overcome in a short time," emphasized Inocêncio Gasparim.
