Sefa seizes more than 14 tons of aluminum scrap and a metal tower
The seizures occur in the municipalities of Marabá and Dom Eliseu

State revenue inspectors from the State Department of Finance (Sefa), assigned to the Coordination of Goods in Transit Control in Carajás, in southeastern Pará, seized 14,450 kg of aluminum scrap on Sunday (10). The goods left Aurora do Pará, in the northeastern part of the state, destined for Guarulhos, São Paulo.
The seizure occurred at the fiscal post at km 9 of the Transamazon Highway, in Marabá. The goods were valued at R$ 166,175.00. "The cargo was described on the invoice as aluminum cables. However, the physical verification confirmed that it was actually aluminum scrap. In addition to the incorrect description, there was a reference to export in the footer of the invoice. After consulting Sefa's systems, it was found that none of the companies involved in the operation had authorization or special export regime," said coordinator Cicinato Oliveira.
The operation was reclassified as an interstate shipment, and the lack of advance ICMS collection due upon leaving the Pará territory was characterized, resulting in the issuance of a Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) in the total amount of R$ 27,917.40, referring to the ICMS and fine.

Tower – Also on Sunday (10), at the Coordination of Goods in Transit Control in Itinga, in Dom Eliseu, southeastern Pará, a self-supporting tower, a metal structure designed to support loads, used in telecommunications and power transmission, was seized. The goods left Pinhais/PR for Vigia/PA, valued at R$ 97,161.44.
“During the inspection process, the lack of collection of the tax differential (ICMS-Difal) for the state of Pará was verified, as the cargo was destined for a non-contributing company. A Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) was issued, in the amount of R$20,152.01, referring to the ICMS and fine, which was paid and the goods released,” reported the coordinator of the tax unit, Rafael Brasil.
