In commemoration of the National Day for Cholesterol Prevention and Control, the Hospital da Mulher do Pará (HMPA), in Belém, promoted an interactive action aimed at patients from the outpatient clinic and inpatient units, with the goal of reinforcing the importance of healthy eating habits in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. The initiative was organized by the teams from the Nutrition and Physiotherapy Service of the unit, this Friday (8).

Professionals provided important information to the users

The activity combined information and relaxation through dynamics, such as the "Tip and Question Roulette," and addressed myths and truths about foods that can control cholesterol, including suggestions for daily life.

"The objective of this action was to take advantage of the date and bring this subject in a simpler way, with everyday information that is well balanced and relaxed, showing proper nutrition as an ally to the good functioning of the heart and quality of life," highlighted the supervisor of the Nutrition team at the Hospital, Marcela Maira.

Thalia Mesquita, from the municipality of Ulianópolis, in southeastern Pará, is hospitalized to remove a gallstone. She participated in an activity with the physiotherapy team and was also informed about how to take better care of her health after surgery and avoid diseases. "I was surprised. I found it very different to receive this dietary guidance and also to be able to come here to do an activity with physiotherapy, interact, and talk. It’s very good," evaluated the patient.

Outdoor physiotherapy encourages patient participation in a more spontaneous way

Outdoors - Coordinator of the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Service, Clara Martins emphasized the work developed to improve the treatment of patients. "Every Friday we have a very special activity for hospitalized patients, an outdoor physiotherapy session, encouraging participation in a more spontaneous and light manner, in addition to contributing to recovery and a more humanized experience during hospitalization. Today, especially, we carried out the activity with the Nutrition team, which came to add a playful activity to reinforce awareness about cholesterol control," added the professional.

At the end of the activities, each participant received a kit with fine herbs, symbolizing the encouragement of balanced eating and the preparation of more natural meals. The initiative reinforces the Hospital's commitment to promoting health and preventing diseases, bringing scientific knowledge closer to the patients' routine.
