The ParáPaz Foundation is promoting various activities this month in homage to the August Lilac campaign, which marks the 19th anniversary of the Maria da Penha Law - enacted on August 7, 2006 - one of the main tools for combating domestic and family violence in Brazil. Actions have already taken place in several units of the Foundation in the Metropolitan Region of Belém and in the countryside, emphasizing awareness, information, and support for women.

In Tucuruí, the ParáPaz Foundation team joined the Civil Police and held a symbolic mobilization, placing lilac ribbons in one of the busiest areas of the urban area, drawing people's attention to the issue.

In Ananindeua, the ParáPaz Mulher unit team, which is part of the Casa da Mulher Brasileira, brought information directly to the public. There was outreach within gyms, distributing flyers and the “violentometer,” a tool that helps identify signs of violence in relationships, from the most subtle to the most severe.

Educational action - In Marabá, the Foundation was also present on the streets. In partnership with the Women's Police Station (Deam) and the Women's Attorney's Office, an educational blitz was held on one of the busiest avenues in the city. The action alerted drivers, pedestrians, and passengers about different types of violence that affect so many women, and the ways to seek help.

In Vigia there will be lectures, discussion circles, itinerant assistance, and other actions to confront domestic violence

In the municipality of Vigia de Nazaré, the program will extend throughout the month. The local unit team is preparing a series of activities with the support of agencies that work in defense of women's rights. Lectures, discussion circles, itinerant assistance, and other actions aimed at prevention, reporting, and confronting domestic violence are planned.

In Mocajuba, the team promoted educational lectures aimed at alerting women and publicizing the August Lilac campaign, reinforcing that information is a right and a form of protection.

In the capital, the ParáPaz Mulher Belém unit is preparing for a special program aimed at assisted women. On August 14 (Thursday), there will be a lecture on self-esteem, self-love, and women's autonomy. On August 22, the team will take to the streets with an informative blitz, distributing educational materials and talking to the public about the Maria da Penha Law and awareness of the types of violence.
