Participation of leaders from across the country reinforces the representativeness of the Governors' Forum in Belém
The meeting will bring together state managers, vice governors, and national authorities at the Parque da Cidade, the main venue for COP30, to align strategies and strengthen Brazil's position on the global climate agenda

The XVII Meeting of the National Governors' Forum, which will be held on August 13 at 10 a.m. at Parque da Cidade in Belém, will gather leaders from all regions of Brazil to discuss preparations for COP30. The meeting will be attended by governors and vice governors, as well as federal and state authorities directly involved in organizing the climate conference.
Among those confirmed are: Gladson Camelí (AC), Ronaldo Lessa (vice, AL), Clécio Luís (AP), Wilson Lima (AM), Elmano de Freitas (CE), Ibaneis Rocha (DF), Renato Casagrande (ES), Daniel Vilela (vice, GO), Carlos Brandão (MA), Barbosinha (acting, MS), Helder Barbalho (PA), Lucas Ribeiro (vice, PB), Raquel Lyra (PE), Rafael Fonteles (PI), Cláudio Castro (RJ), Fátima Bezerra (RN), Gabriel Souza (vice, RS), Sérgio Gonçalves (vice, RO), Antonio Denarium (RR), Felicio Ramuth (vice, SP), Fábio Mitidieri (SE), and Wanderlei Barbosa (TO).
Also participating are Ambassador André Corrêa do Lago, president of the National COP30 Commission and Brazil's chief negotiator at climate conferences; the Minister of Cities, Jader Barbalho Filho; the vice governor and state president of COP30, Hana Ghassan Tuma; and the president of the Legislative Assembly of the State of Pará, Chicão.

The event will take place in the Creative Economy building of Parque da Cidade, which will be the epicenter of COP30 activities. With infrastructure prepared to host heads of state, international delegations, civil society organizations, and press from around the world, the park will concentrate the two most strategic areas of the conference: the Blue Zone, dedicated to diplomatic negotiations and official decisions, and the Green Zone, which will host public debates, cultural presentations, scientific exhibitions, and sustainable innovation initiatives. The choice of Parque da Cidade to host the Forum reinforces its role as a symbol of the urban and environmental legacy that the conference will leave for Belém and Brazil.
About the Forum
The National Governors' Forum is a permanent body for coordination among the executive heads of the 26 states and the Federal District. Since its creation, it has established itself as a strategic space to discuss issues of common interest and build joint solutions to the country's major challenges.
In addition to promoting alignment on public safety, health, education, fiscal balance, and the environment, the Forum acts as a direct channel for dialogue with the Federal Government. The agendas are defined in advance by consensus, and governors take on reports according to their affinity with each topic.
