Hemopa mobilizes nursing students in blood donation campaign in Belém
Partnership with Albert Einstein Institute reinforces the stocks of the state blood network and encourages solidarity among future health professionals

The Pará Center for Hemotherapy and Hematology Foundation (Hemopa) held an internal blood donation campaign this Thursday (07), in partnership with the Albert Einstein Education Institute, in Belém. The action mobilized students from the technical nursing course, who participated voluntarily and contributed to strengthening the stocks of the state blood network.
The initiative is part of Hemopa's ongoing strategies to stimulate the culture of voluntary and regular donation, especially among strategic audiences, such as students in the health field. In addition to donating, participants were able to learn about the collection process and received guidance on the importance of donating blood to save lives.
Professor and nurse Gabriela Vieira from the Albert Einstein Institute emphasized the importance of the experience for the students. “We are here with the students so they understand how many lives depend on a blood bag. We want to awaken this awareness in them, starting from their training,” she stated.

The action also had the support of the Donor Recruitment Management (Gecad) of Hemopa, responsible for coordinating solidarity caravans. “The mobilization of groups like this is essential to strengthen our stock and spread the culture of voluntary and regular donation. The presence of students and professionals from the Albert Einstein Institute today was a gesture that inspires and renews our commitment to public health,” highlighted Nazaré Saldanha, social worker at Gecad.
Testimonial reinforces the impact of the action
Student Lucas Souza from the technical nursing course participated in the campaign and shared his motivation. “Donating blood is a simple act, but with a huge impact. As future health professionals, it is important that we are engaged and understand in practice what solidarity is,” he commented.
Service: The next internal blood donation campaign will be held at the Alberto Teaching Center (CEA) this Saturday (09), starting at 8 am, at the Hemopa headquarters.
