Agents seized 10 blocks of skank and the vehicle from the suspect
A regulatory action by the Candiru River Base, integrated by agents from the River Group, linked to the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense and the Military Police, resulted in the flagrant arrest of a man for drug trafficking and the seizure of 10 blocks of skank and a vehicle, where the drugs were being transported, on the afternoon of last Thursday, the 7th, on the vessel N/M Amazon Star that was navigating the Amazon River, in the municipality of Óbidos. The action took place as part of the operation "Protector of Borders and Boundaries."
“We continue to carry out drug seizures and dismantle trafficking with actions carried out daily on the rivers, especially where we have Integrated Bases installed. This time, the drugs were hidden in the bodywork of a vehicle that was being transported on a vessel that left Manaus (AM) heading to Belém (PA), and thanks to the expertise of the agents and the assistance of the sniffer dog, it was possible to identify the drug and make the arrest. The action reinforces, once again, that the regulatory strategies of the integrated security forces have been very effective in combating crime and dismantling organized crime, and we affirm that we will continue to act very strongly to combat crime and ensure a state with security and social peace,” said Ualame Machado, Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense.
Flagrant
During a routine inspection of vessels navigating the Amazon River, the security agents observed a vehicle inside a vessel, with a strong smell of creosote, a substance used to disguise the odor of drugs, and also verified that the car had been recently painted.
With the assistance of the sniffer dog, the dog Isis indicated a positive signal for a narcotic substance, thus the person responsible for the car, present on the vessel, stated that he was transporting the drug to be delivered in Belém.
Subsequently, the vehicle was unloaded at the port where the Candiru Base is located for a more thorough inspection, where 10 blocks of drugs of the skank type, weighing 6.200 kg, were found.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested in the act for drug trafficking and the drugs and vehicle were seized for examination. The appropriate procedures were carried out by the Civil Police.
