Hemopa and Seduc Campaign Brings Solidarity and Blood Donation to the Icoaraci Neighborhood in Belém
Partnership mobilized servers, students, and neighboring institutions to reinforce blood stocks at Hemopa

The Pará Center for Hemotherapy and Hematology Foundation (Hemopa), in partnership with the State Department of Education (Seduc), held an external blood donation campaign on Wednesday (06) in the Icoaraci district of Belém. The action was supported by a mobile unit and a collection trailer, facilitating volunteers' access to the service.
The initiative aimed to reinforce the blood stocks of the state blood network and raise awareness about the importance of voluntary and regular donation, especially during periods of higher demand. Choosing the Icoaraci region allowed for closer proximity of the service to the population, promoting citizenship and solidarity.

Nazaré Saldanha, the social worker from the Donor Recruitment Management (Gecad), highlighted the collaboration between different agencies for the realization of the action. “This is a long-standing partnership with Seduc, which has a strong commitment to social responsibility. Today we managed to mobilize various agencies and institutions in the area to participate in the campaign. It is a way to facilitate access to donation, both for servers and for the community,” explained Nazaré. According to her, the expectation is to collect at least 80 bags.

For nurse Rita Silva, who has been working at the Department for over 20 years, the partnership with Hemopa reinforces the commitment to valuing the server and the collective good. “When someone donates blood, they do not just save one patient, they save an entire family. This campaign represents the social responsibility we carry over the years. Our goal is to reach 120 donors with the support of our servers and partner institutions,” she stated.
Among the volunteers, Seduc educator Giucelha Santos, donating for the fourth time, emphasized the personal value of the experience. “One day I needed it, and today I can give back. I feel grateful to be able to donate and, in some way, help save other lives,” she reported.
The campaign also coincided with the opening of Sabem, an event by Seduc that was attended by the State Secretary of Education. “It is the union between the Health and Education departments for the sake of life, through blood donation and bone marrow registration,” Nazaré added.

The Hemopa Foundation regularly conducts external campaigns in partnership with public and private institutions, aiming to decentralize the service, recruit new donors, and facilitate access to donation. To donate blood, one must be between 16 and 69 years old, in good health, weigh more than 50 kg, and present an official photo ID.
Service - The next external action of the Hemopa Foundation will take place this Thursday (07) at the Federal University of Pará (UFPA), in the Guamá neighborhood of Belém. The campaign will occur in the Benedito Nunes auditorium, from 8 am to 5 pm, with an expected 50 volunteers. The structure will include a mobile unit and collection trailer.
