Final report of Operation Summer 2025 shows reduction in crimes in cities
More than 9,000 public agents reinforced activities in 50 locations

The Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense of Pará (Segup), integrated with other forces of the State Security System, presented, on Tuesday (5), the final report of the actions developed during the "Operation Summer 2025". More than 9,000 public agents reinforced activities in 50 locations in Pará, aiming to ensure the safety of vacationers and tourists who enjoyed the month of July on the beaches and resorts most sought after by the people of Pará.

According to data released by the Undersecretary of Intelligence and Criminal Analysis (Siac), linked to Segup, reductions were recorded in the indicators of robbery and theft crimes in Pará, compared to the summer of 2024. According to the numbers, there was a reduction of 14.8% and 12.5%, respectively, when related to the summer period of last year.
In 2024, there were 4,935 cases of theft, and in 2025, 4,206 occurrences were recorded. Regarding robbery, in 2024 there were 1,821 cases, while this year the number of occurrences dropped to 1,593 cases.
"This year we had an atypical summer, due to the school holidays of students from the Metropolitan Region of Belém being shortened. Thus, our actions were concentrated in the 50 locations of the State, resulting in a quieter vacation period. We implemented some previously established measures, such as controlling the hours of stay of trailers and sound cars on the beaches in Salinópolis, as well as inspections to prevent the use of glass bottles on the sand and the continuation of preventive actions regarding the prohibition of cerol lines. Our teams also acted with visibility through daily patrols and inspections to combat criminal acts, as well as inspecting bars and restaurants operating within the standards established by law," pointed out the Secretary of Public Security of the State, Ualame Machado.

Productivity - Among the actions developed in the locations that received the reinforcement of Operation Summer, the performance of the Civil and Military Police stands out, which, in an integrated manner, acted in the inspections of commercial establishments. During the month of July, 9,242 commercial establishments were inspected, of which 460 were summoned and 534 were closed. The teams also conducted about 564 approaches to places and establishments reported for noise pollution. There were also 654 arrests, 452 procedures initiated, 102 arrest warrants executed, 28 fugitives recaptured, and 70,820 kg of drugs seized.
Fire Department - Throughout the month of July, the Fire Department teams conducted 41,330 orientations and social actions, in addition to 535 pre-hospital care services.
The teams also distributed 7,262 child identification bracelets, and 201 lost children were located with their guardians.

Traffic Actions - Traffic inspection actions and combating alcohol consumption were significantly intensified throughout the summer period, especially on the beaches and resorts of the State. Teams from the State Traffic Department (Detran) conducted 71,365 vehicle approaches, and 26,485 breathalyzer tests were performed. There were also 97 arrests for alcohol-related offenses and 101 for non-compliance with Article 165.

Care, Forensics, and Monitoring - Forensic activities were also intensified during the "Operation Summer"; through the State Scientific Police, 96 forensic examinations were conducted. Agents from the Secretary of Penitentiary Administration (Seap) monitored 177 individuals, of which 77 were presented and taken to the penitentiary system.
The actions began on June 28 and ended last Monday, August 4. A total of security activities were developed over six consecutive weekends.

"This year we had six weekends, which also shows us an atypical July, with one more weekend than usual. All peculiarities were strategically analyzed so that we could guarantee the population a quieter vacation period while maintaining public order. We successfully concluded another Operation Summer by carrying out the necessary inspections and ensuring the safety of all," concluded Ualame Machado.

Integration - Teams from the Civil and Military Police, State Scientific Police, Military Fire Department, Traffic Department (Detran), and State Secretary of Penitentiary Administration (Seap) were present in the Operation, along with security agencies from municipal and federal spheres.
