The religious leader was honored by Governor Helder Barbalho with the Grão-Pará Order of Merit.

The Government of the State of Pará has declared an official mourning period of three days, starting this Tuesday (08/05), due to the passing of missionary and emeritus pastor Firmino da Anunciação Gouveia, the seventh leader of the Assembly of God (Mother Church) in Belém. The decree was signed by Governor Helder Barbalho.
Recognized for his journey of faith, leadership, and contribution to the spiritual formation of thousands of people from Pará, Pastor Firmino was honored in his lifetime, upon reaching 100 years, in March of this year, with the Grão-Pará Order of Merit, the highest honor awarded by the State Government. The ceremony was held at that time in the Central Temple of the Assembly of God, with the presence of Governor Helder Barbalho.
In a message published on social media, the Pará governor highlighted the legacy of the religious leader.
“I receive with sadness the news of the passing of Pastor Firmino Gouveia. A man of faith and example, who dedicated his life to others. I had the honor of honoring him for his 100 years with the Grão-Pará Merit Commendation. May God comfort his family and the entire evangelical community. His legacy remains,” stated Helder Barbalho.
In expressing deep sorrow for the loss of the religious leader, the Government of Pará extends its condolences to the family, friends, faithful, and the entire evangelical community.
