Each collected bag can save up to four lives.

On this Tuesday (05), the Pará Hemotherapy and Hematology Center Foundation (Hemopa), in partnership with the State Secretariat for Citizenship Articulation (Seac), carried out another strategic action to expand access to blood donation in Belém. The campaign took place at the Usina da Paz Pe. Bruno Sechi, in the Bengui neighborhood, and was supported by the foundation's mobile unit and trailer, structures equipped to serve donors safely and comfortably.

The initiative aimed to facilitate the voluntary participation of the population in an essential cause for the functioning of the public health network: maintaining blood stocks. Hemopa's presence at the Usina da Paz also reinforces the State Government's commitment to public policies that unite citizenship, health, and social inclusion.

Throughout the morning, residents from the surrounding area were invited to participate in the action, directly contributing to the lives of patients who depend on transfusions. The campaign also played a role in raising awareness among new donors and strengthening the culture of regular donation.

Vanessa Pimentel, social worker at Hemopa: “Each donor represents a renewed hope.”

According to Vanessa Pimentel, social worker at Hemopa's Donor Recruitment Management (Gecad), the campaign at the Usina da Paz is always well received by the population. “Decentralizing the service allows more people to participate, especially residents of the region itself, like Bengui, which always shows great solidarity. Each donor who comes here represents a renewed hope for those who need it most,” she highlighted.

Marciele Santos, resident of Bengui: “Today I fulfilled a dream: to donate blood and help those in need.”

For many participants, the action facilitated the realization of a long-held desire. This was the case for Marciele Santos, 38, a resident of the neighborhood. “I have always wanted to donate blood, but the distance and the rush of everyday life made it difficult. Today, with the campaign happening close to home, I was able to come. I feel very grateful because I have seen people close to me need help and I couldn't assist. Now, I want to donate more often and help those in need,” she shared.

The Usina da Paz Pe. Bruno Sechi is one of the integrated units of the Territories for Peace (TerPaz) program, which brings public services and citizenship to areas of greater social vulnerability. Hemopa's presence at the site represents another bridge between health care and the exercise of solidarity.

The campaign also received support from community leaders and volunteers, who helped with mobilization and welcoming donors. Each collected bag can benefit up to four people.

Service- The next external campaign of Hemopa will be held this Wednesday, August 6, in partnership with the State Secretariat of Education (Seduc). The action will take place from 8 am to 4 pm, at Rodovia Augusto Montenegro, km 10, s/n, in Icoaraci. The structure will include a mobile unit and trailer, ensuring adequate service to donors.
