With over 25 thousand positions filled, Pará leads the generation of formal jobs in the Northern Region in the first half of 2025
According to the survey by Dieese and Seaster, the study also shows that, according to CAGED data, in June, all macroeconomic sectors of activities in Pará showed growth in formal jobs.
The formal market in Pará showed a positive balance in job creation in June across all sectors. According to data released by the Inter-Union Department of Statistics and Socioeconomic Studies (DIEESE), along with the Secretary of Social Assistance, Labor, Employment and Income (Seaster), on this Monday (04), there were more admissions than dismissals for the period.
With this new positive result recorded in June, the study conducted shows that in the first half of 2025, there was growth in formal employment. There were 259,469 admissions against 234,043 dismissals, resulting in a positive balance of 25,426 formal job positions.
Sectors that hired the most
According to the survey by Dieese and Seaster, based on CAGED data, in June, all macroeconomic sectors of activities in Pará showed growth in formal jobs, with a highlight for the construction sector, which had a positive balance of 1,556 job positions. Next, the services sector, with a positive balance of 1,273 job positions. In third place is the industry, with a positive balance of 1,191 job positions, and the commerce sector, with a positive balance of 1,043 job positions, and agriculture, with a positive balance of 434 job positions.
Regional Highlight
The Northern Region also showed growth in the generation of formal jobs. In June, all states that make up the region showed an increase in the generation of formal jobs. In the analyzed month, a total of 106,775 admissions were made, against a total of 95,092 dismissals, generating a positive balance of 11,683 job positions. Highlighting Pará, which accounted for almost half of the total balance of the entire Northern Region.
National Ranking
The result positions Pará as a leader in job generation in the Northern Region and 11th in the national ranking, ahead of states like Rio Grande do Sul, Amazonas, Mato Grosso do Sul, Espírito Santo, and the Federal District. The balance in June is 45% higher than that recorded in the same period of 2024.
“We continue to work to ensure more access to the labor market for everyone, with more investments in professional training and partnerships with companies that increasingly ensure new opportunities, to boost job and income generation throughout Pará,” highlighted Inocencio Gasparim, head of Seaster.
Forecast
Still based on the data from the movement of formal employment in Pará, DIEESE analyses show that if we maintain the average behavior, with about 42 thousand admissions recorded until the end of 2025, between May and December, we can reach about 500 thousand admissions, a number greater than the total recorded in 2024.
