Detran starts exclusive service for atypical mothers in the CNH Pai D’égua program
More than 4,000 women are expected to benefit from this special edition aimed at the inclusion and mobility of families with people with disabilities
The Government of Pará, through the State Department of Transit (Detran), started on this Monday (04) a new phase of the CNH Pai D’égua program, with exclusive service for atypical mothers. The action targets women responsible for caring for children with disabilities and seeks to ensure more mobility, autonomy, and social inclusion.
In this special edition, about 4,000 women will benefit in municipalities of the Metropolitan Region of Belém and in island locations, such as Mosqueiro, Caratateua, Cotijuba, and Combu. Registration at the Detran headquarters in Belém can be done until August 14, from 1 PM to 4 PM, on weekdays. In other municipalities, service will follow the hours indicated in the registration passport.
Inclusion and dignity - With more than 60,000 people already benefited since its creation, the CNH Pai D’égua has established itself as a national reference by offering free access to the first driver's license. Now, the expansion of the program to atypical mothers reinforces the commitment of the Government of Pará to inclusion and the strengthening of public accessibility policies.
“Today we are starting the registration of atypical mothers. It is a very special edition that will provide opportunities for these mothers who already have such a difficult life that requires more attention. We will have exclusive service for CNH Pai D’égua in the afternoon, starting at 1 PM,” said Ana Carolina, president of the CNH Pai D’égua Program Commission.
Expectations of the beneficiaries
The self-employed Isabelle Lima, mother of Mikael, a child diagnosed with level 1 autism, was one of the first to register. She spoke about the impact of the program on her routine:
“We are on this journey with him. It’s not easy, it never has been. I have never romanticized atypical motherhood because only those who experience it know how hard it is. My expectations with CNH Pai D’égua – Atypical Mothers is to get my driver's license since I already have my own vehicle, so I can take my son to therapy.”
