Mobilization of the Hemorrede from Hemopa ensures transfusion support for more than 2,300 people in a single day
With 596 blood bags collected, the action mobilized units in various regions of Pará
The Pará Hemotherapy and Hematology Center Foundation (Hemopa) held a statewide blood donation mobilization on Saturday (02), resulting in the collection of 596 bags, with the potential to save up to 2,384 lives. The action involved the engagement of fixed units and external campaigns in strategic municipalities, strengthening the supply of the State's stocks.
In Belém, the Coordinating Hemocenter recorded 45 bags collected. At the Castanheira shopping mall, there were 39 donations, and at the Metrópole shopping point in Ananindeua, 20 bags were collected.
In the Guamá Integration Region, the Regional Hemocenter of Castanhal (HRCAS) conducted its first internal campaign of the month in partnership with the 12th BPM of Santa Izabel and the 5th BPM of Castanhal. The action had 108 attendees and resulted in 102 blood bags and 44 registrations in the National Registry of Voluntary Bone Marrow Donors (Redome). During the activity, students in training for the Military Police participated in a lecture by Hemopa's Social Service, reinforcing the importance of continuous donation and voluntary registration.
In the west of the State, the Hemocenter of Santarém collected 33 bags. In Jacundá, under the coordination of Hemopa Marabá, 133 bags were collected during an itinerant action. In Cumaru do Norte, the external campaign promoted by Hemopa Redenção collected 68 bags of blood.
The highlight of the day was the municipality of Viseu, where the external campaign was led by the Hemopa Capanema (Henca) team, with support from HRCAS. The goal was exceeded: 173 attendees and 156 bags collected. The action had the support of the Municipal Health Department, the team from the Boa Esperança Health Post, and the local community, which widely engaged in the dissemination.
Service – The Hemopa Foundation reinforces that blood donation is a solidarity gesture that helps save lives. Donations can be made by men every two months and by women every three, safely, quickly, and with care. The collected blood is intended for patients hospitalized in public health units or those contracted with the Unified Health System (SUS).
