Education and citizenship conclude the Summer Operation 2025 of Ideflor-Bio in the Marajó Archipelago
Throughout the month of July, strategic municipalities such as Soure, Cachoeira do Arari, Salvaterra, and Ponta de Pedras also received teams from Ideflor-Bio.

With a calendar filled with activities aimed at environmental awareness, land management, and strengthening public policies, the Institute of Forest Development and Biodiversity of Pará (Ideflor-Bio) concluded the programming of the Summer Operation 2025 in the Marajó Archipelago. The closing took place in the municipality of Afuá, with actions aimed especially at children, between July 30 and August 2, marking the highlight of a journey of integration between public authorities and local communities.
Throughout the month of July, strategic municipalities such as Soure, Cachoeira do Arari, Salvaterra, and Ponta de Pedras also received teams from Ideflor-Bio. The activities included environmental regularization campaigns, educational actions at fairs and beaches, ecological scavenger hunts, and community mobilizations, focusing on raising awareness about the importance of environmental conservation and collective responsibility in managing natural resources.
In Afuá, the cycle concluded with a special program aimed at children in situations of social vulnerability. On the 31st, the target audience was the little ones attended by the Emily Galdino Activity Complex (Caeg), an institution that welcomes children under protective measures. On August 1, the actions were carried out with the support of the Specialized Reference Center for Social Assistance (Creas), aimed at children supported by public social protection policies.
The climax of the actions occurred on August 2, during the celebrations for the 135th anniversary of Afuá. Amid the popular celebration, the Ideflor-Bio team promoted playful and educational activities to value biodiversity, involving children and their families in an interactive circuit that combined fun and environmental awareness.

Awareness - The actions in Afuá were supported by the Municipal City Hall, the Municipal Secretary of the Environment (Semamb), the Municipal Secretary of Social Assistance (Semas), and local institutions that work with at-risk populations. “Concluding the Summer Operation on the city’s anniversary, bringing environmental education to all ages, especially to children, is a gift for Afuá and a renewed commitment to the future of Marajó,” emphasized the manager of the Marajó Administrative Region of Ideflor-Bio, Hugo Dias.
With the mission of conserving biodiversity and promoting the sustainable use of natural resources, Ideflor-Bio reaffirmed, once again, with the conclusion of the Summer Operation 2025, its commitment to being present where Pará needs it most: alongside communities, in direct dialogue with the population, and building solutions for the environmental challenges of the Amazon.
The director of Management and Monitoring of Conservation Units, Ellivelton Carvalho, highlighted the importance of the territorial strategy adopted. “Our presence in various municipalities of Marajó reinforces the role of Ideflor-Bio as a facilitator of environmental policies. We integrate land regularization actions with environmental education, always in partnership with city halls and civil society,” he stated.
